Raipur : 'Mukhyamantri Suposhan Mission' launched : People's participation needed for malnutrition free Chhattisgarh: Dr. Raman Singh Chhattisgarh should equal Kerala in malnutrition-free State in three years Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh stressed upon the need for people's co-operation in making Chhattisgarh 'malnutrition-free' State in the ensuing three years. He was addressing the gathering after the launch of 'Mukhyamantri Suposhan Mission' at Naveen Rest House. He appreciated that with the active participation of the common citizens there is a drastic fall in malnutrition among the masses in the entire State. The percentage of malnutrition among masses was around 70 per cent at the time of formation of new State Chhattisgarh. After the launch of 'Weight Festival' in the year 2012 the malnutrition had fallen to 30.13 per cent in the year 2016. Chief Minister called upon the citizens of the State to take a pledge to make Chhattisgarh 'malnutrition-free' in the next three years. In Kerala the malnutrition per cent is 12 as on today. There is a need to match Kerala in this regard. He also launched Nutrilik Online Poshan Salaha Kendra and Nutrilik Mobile App. Nutrilik Online Poshan Salaha Kendra has been established with the assistance of World Bank under the ISNIP Project. Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Ramsheela Sahu presided over the function. Parliamentary Secretary Mrs. Roopkumari Chowdhary , Chief Secretary Mr. Vivek Dhand, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Ajay Singh and Secretary Women and Child Development Department Dr. Geeta and senior officers were also present. Dr. Raman Singh also launched CD on Suposhan Sankalp song. Chief Minister said that malnutrition is the biggest obstacle in the raid progress of Chhattisgarh. It is a bigger challenge than even Left-Wing Extremism. The State Government is fighting the Naxalites and will win the war against them but the people's co-operation is needed in the fight against Naxalism. Dr. Raman Singh said that entire country will attain the target of Prime Minster Mr. Narendra Modi's 'Swachh Bharat' mission (Open Defecation -Free) by October 2019 and the Chhattisgarh State will attain it one year earlier. The citizens can achieve 'malnutrition free' State also. There is a need to protect children from malnutrition and only mothers know better. Mothers are always worried about nutritious diet of their progeny. Chief Minister stressed on the importance of anganwaadis and schools in eradicating malnutrition. Chhattisgarh can attain the goal with the determination of women to make their children healthy. Community-based projects can help attain a healthy society.
